A lovely creamy Guinness in the Golf Club bar finished off the evening nicely. A wet and windy night followed by a misty start to the day as we headed off to Dursey Cable car. Some wonderful scenery and narrow roads along the way, we arrived at the cable car as the sun was trying to break through. After a bit of deliberation we decided to go for it and headed off to Dursey Island. A short walk and a few sheep later, we headed back for the ride, suspended over the sea whilst chatting with a local.
Today was all about twisty roads and amazing views. A coffee stop at Allihies Copper Mine Museum was an interesting contrast with the story of the rise and fall of the local copper mining. Allihies was another village of brightly painted houses.
Our next stop was Derreen Gardens, a network of winding paths through a mature 150 year old woodland.
We arrived at Beara Camping with time for a hot shower and take a walk to the nearby beach.
